Hertz designed their HMX 6.5 6-1/2” marine speakers to bring high-quality audio to any boat. They're made for max volume, with big magnets, polypropylene cones, and acoustic lens tweeters that are optimized for off-axis dispersion.

The speaker basket and grille are made from a rugged, UV-resistant polymer that stands up to water, dust, and mud, while the stainless steel mesh grille protects the tweeter from both dirt and damage. Aramid fiber spiders, silicone-insulated leads, and Santoprene rubber surrounds will help keep these durable speakers performing at a high level for years to come.

Features
Size: With a required cutout diameter of approximately 5", these speakers fit into the openings for standard 6½" car speakers, but the frame is much bigger than a typical 6½" and the screw hole pattern is different. Because the grille is not designed to be removed, the mounting height is also greater than most car speakers. For these reasons, the speakers won't fit in most car applications.
Infinite-Baffle Operation: The speakers are optimized for infinite baffle operation, so they can be installed in a variety of locations without the need for a dedicated enclosure.
